Nick Easter, an ex-England No. 8 and Harlequins rugby star was at the unveiling of a new look store by the New Malden’s B&Q where he got the chance to show off his home improvement skills.
Easter popularly called Minty by colleagues and fans as well was at the family fun day hosted by the famous retailers on Saturday at one of its flagship stores in New Malden.
Here, he was able to put his DIY skills to the test with the other residents at the event. He was also on ground to meet with fans, and sign autographs for them throughout the event.
Speaking at the event, Easter said: “I’m not sure that my DIY skills were able to compete with the store experts but it was be great to get some advice from them to make my own home improvement projects easier.”
The New Malden store was revamped so as to be able to offer customers access to a variety of new products and features, which includes a new paint desk, kitchens and bathroom display and a new café with windows overlooking the south west London.
The unit manager at the store, Lee Bayliss was impressed with the new look and happy that they were able to show it off to residents on New Malden in order to inspire them begin a new home improvement project under their expert guidance.
He was also happy that Easter had availed the opportunity to take part in their DIY challenges.
“The family fun day with Nick taking part in our DIY challenges was a great day for all of our customers and staff,” he added.
In Rugby, Easter has recently come out to back the World Rugby for the new directives they have put in place as regarding to head contact.
